"Martin Parr(born 1952) is a British documentary photographer and
photojournalist. His photographic projects take a critical look at modern
society, specifically consumerism, foreign travel and tourism, motoring,
family and relationships, and food.
His use of high saturation colour in photography produces some, at first
glance boring and subdued images, though when you look a little deeper into
them and the history behind them they are highly profound.
His satirical, witty approach to documentary photography leaves the viewer
not sure whether to laugh or cry."
